慈济是一个以慈善环保为目的, 成员偏向Asian学生的学生组织, 本周末他们有两个活动, 交流以英语为主,普通话也没有问题,粤语也可以小范围通行. 这个组织虽规模不大,但是十分温馨, 有兴趣的同学可以参与.

This week, there are two upcoming events on the Saturday (09/22).
1. The Senior Home Care Senior Home Care (居家关怀） Date: 09/22/2012 Time: 09:15am - 10:30am Venue: Parkway Meadow Senior Apartment (near Kroger on ATTA route 2)
Help grandpa's and grandma's to do some simple household chores, or teach them the usage of computer, or talk to them! For more information on this event, please click here: here. If you are interested, please register by following this link.
2. English Class English Class Date: 09/22/2012 Time: 10:30am - 12:00am Venue: Parkway Meadow Senior Apartment (near Kroger on ATTA route 2)
Background: Some of the senior residents (whom we call as grandpa and grandma) in PM Senior Apartment are immigrants from East Asia, such as China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Despite the fact most of them are professionals back in their own country/ region, they can barely speak English due to different education systems. The English Class starts four years ago and keeps growing with more grandpa and grandma joining us, it's because of their passion and enthusiasm in learning, and also the continuous and persistent commitments from our volunteers. Classes will be delivered in Mandarin Chinese.
